Dehancer Film Emulation

Dehancer reached out for an honest review of their film emulation plugin inside a real DaVinci Resolve workflow.

Instead of approaching the project like a technical software review, I tested the plugin the same way I naturally approach color grading in my own projects. Looking closely at grain, halation, texture, contrast and the small details that change how an image emotionally feels rather than just how it looks technically.

The project became a mix of breakdown, experimentation and practical grading workflow. I used my own footage, tested the plugin inside real edits and focused on where it genuinely adds depth and character to an image.

It connected naturally with the visual style I already gravitate toward in my own work: cinematic texture, softer highlights, rich color separation and a more organic film-inspired look.
